"If the only prayer you ever say is thank you, that will be enough." Eckhart Tolle
What is gratitude? Gratitude is an unconditional appreciation for everything in life. When we experience gratitude we are feeling appreciation, respect and reverence. An attitude of gratitude can help you achieve health and happiness. It is the key that opens the door to not only a hidden garden but to a box full of treasures. The best way to achieve happiness is to focus your attention on gratitude. One way to develop this is to think about what makes you happy. What brings a smile to your face? What are the simple things that you have in your everyday life that make you feel grateful? Taking time to focus on what there is no matter how small or big allows you to stay in the energy of abundance. Do this for three days and each time you discover something new say thank you. Now try to go a week, a month or however long until you notice beauty in everything. Going through this practice will help you achieve happiness more than you could ever imagine, because when you are grateful you are connected to the essence of happiness. Gratitude and happiness will be the source of energy. It is also a question of karma. When you live your life from the mindset of gratitude and happiness, you will cleanse bad karma. When you incorporate gratitude into your daily life, you will begin to change the patterns in your life. It is like the foundation of a house. When you look at the foundation of the house compared to the rest of the building it can seem quite small. But, without it the building would not exist. It is the same with beginning the practice of gratitude and happiness. It will become the foundation of your day. As you practice this everyday, you will start to see the changes. You will experience more than just a shift in attitude and perspective. You will see a difference in your health and mental well being. Gratitude is the key to responding with joy to everything that is in your life.
